A Brazilian court acquitted Nippon Soda, Evonik, Sanofi and Aventis Animal Nutrition of accusations that they took part in a methionine cartel. The ruling closes the cartel probe in Brazil on August 12, 2020.
The companies had been accused of coordinating methionine sales in the country.
Closing the cartel case removes a legal overhang on major methionine suppliers, so it has little direct effect on Brazilian methionine prices or feed costs. Trade measures in the US remain the more important driver.
