SecAnim announced a Category 1 animal by-product facility costing over £15 million at its Widnes renewable energy and recycling site. The Shepherdson High Efficiency Plant is set for commissioning in October 2020 and will turn raw material into tallow and meat and bone meal.
The plant adds UK rendering capacity that will supply tallow for biodiesel and meat and bone meal for feed. Its scale is small relative to global supply.
