Chinese caprolactam-grade ammonium sulphate has risen every week since mid-June, from the mid-to-high $80s to $110/t fob. The rally is tied to firmer Brazilian urea values and strong Chinese compactor demand, with Brazil importing rising volumes of Chinese amsul and SE Asia taking more material.
Rising amsul prices reflect tightening nitrogen-complex supply and pricier sulphur-based fertiliser alternatives, which keeps nitrogen input costs elevated for Brazilian and Asian farmers. Feed buyers may see continued upward pressure on fertiliser-linked crop costs.
