Walmart's fluid milk plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana will delay bottling until later in summer, with full production later in the year. The plant will source milk from three cooperatives and independent farms within 180 miles.
It will serve stores in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and parts of Illinois and Kentucky.
A new large fluid milk plant changes regional milk sourcing and processing competition, but the delay means little near-term effect on milk prices.
