Heating oil fell more than 5% to a ten-week low of $1.15 per gallon while soybean oil slipped about 2%, pushing the soybean oil/heating oil spread to its highest since April 2016. Biodiesel RIN values rose more than 4% as a result, with the 2020 RIN at 73.5 cents.
A wider soyoil-to-heating-oil spread improves biodiesel margins and supports demand for soybean oil, while higher RINs raise the economics of blending.
