Evonik will consolidate its DL-methionine production into three world-scale plants in Singapore, Antwerp and Mobile, Alabama. It will close its smallest plant in Wesseling, Germany, with 65,000 tons per year of capacity, by the end of Q1 2021.
Removing about 65,000 tons of capacity from a major supplier tightens global DL-methionine supply, which supports prices for feed formulators over time, though the three remaining plants keep output broadly stable.
