Researchers used mechanochemistry to capture carbon dioxide by reacting it with lysine in a solvent-free ball mill, forming a reversible carbamate. The process takes about five minutes and can release the gas by heating to 175°C.
This is a laboratory carbon capture research result with no direct effect on feed supply, demand or prices.
