ADM Animal Nutrition launched NutriPass L, an encapsulated lysine supplement designed to be rumen-stable and released in the intestine of dairy and beef cattle. The company says the patent-pending coating delivers more consistent metabolizable lysine per 100 grams of product.
A more available lysine source lets nutritionists reduce higher-cost protein ingredients in rations, which modestly shifts demand away from protein meals and toward synthetic amino acids. The impact on feed prices is small for a single product launch.
