Peru's Ministry of Production said the second anchovy season will begin November 12 and run until the 2.78 million-ton total allowable catch is reached. The resolution also bans catching and processing undersized anchovy, with a 10% tolerance for juveniles, and suspends fishing for three days if juvenile catches exceed that limit.
The large catch allowance adds fishmeal and fish oil supply, which is bearish for fishmeal. The juvenile rules could cut catches in some ports and limit that supply.
