USDA's December report left its 2020/21 Ukrainian sunflower production forecast unchanged at 14 million tonnes. It also kept Ukraine's meal and oil projections at 5.72 and 5.96 million tonnes, and cut world sunflower oil output to 19.27 million tonnes, down 2.23 million from 2019/20.
A smaller world sunflower oil crop than last year supports vegetable oil prices and tightens the oilseed meal and oil balance for buyers. The unchanged Ukrainian forecast offers no new upside.
