Belarusian Potash Company said it raised its 2021 potash contract price with India's IPL by 7.4% to $247/t CFR. The 800,000-tonne annual contract replaces the $230/t price agreed in May 2020.
BPC said the deal could support potentially higher global potash prices.
The price increase sets a higher benchmark for Indian potash demand in 2021. This supports potash prices, though the contract covers only about 15% of India's annual demand.
