Ukrainian sunflower seed purchase prices fell to about 21,600-22,000 UAH/t after vegetable oil prices, especially palm oil, declined sharply. Sunflower oil bids dropped by $40-50 per ton to $1,220-1,250 FOB.
Palm futures in Malaysia fell 2.2% on weaker exports in early January.
Lower palm and sunflower oil prices pull down the crush margin and raw seed bids, which reduces seed-supplier pricing power. Expected supply tightness in Ukraine could still limit the decline.
