An AgWeb feature reports that the post-gin cottonseed industry is being hurt by a steady drop in U.S. cotton acreage. Cottonseed is processed into oil, meal, hulls and linters, with most output used domestically.
Fewer cotton acres mean less cottonseed available for crushing, which tightens supplies of cottonseed meal used in cattle feed and can support its price.
