The Malaysian Palm Oil Council published its overview of the global palm oil sector for 2020 and its outlook for 2021. It notes that palm, soybean, rapeseed and sunflower oils make up about 76% of global oils and fats production.
It also estimates that global oils and fats output fell by about 0.6 million tonnes in 2020.
The outlook frames the balance of the four major vegetable oils, which determines the supply of palm-based and oilseed-based feed ingredients. The report is background context rather than a new price shock.
After 66 past neutral report events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (58% higher; middle half -0.4% to +2.0%), and +2.2% over 20.
