The U.S. Grains Council's weekly report says U.S. DDGS prices were steady as Midwest cold and high natural gas prices curtailed production and supplies. Lower soymeal futures offset some of that support, leaving FOB ethanol plant prices steady to slightly higher.
Brokers reported elevated spot prices due to river logistics problems, and the DDGS-to-corn ratio rose to 119 percent.
Weaker soymeal futures cap DDGS values even as tight supply holds prices up, so feed buyers face mixed signals on protein costs. The inverse soymeal and corn futures curve is also pulling forward DDGS pricing.
