Belarus raised potash fertilizer exports 59.6% year on year in January 2021 to 695,700 tonnes of potassium chloride, according to official statistics. Export value rose 38.5% to $226.5 million, while the average export price fell 13.2% to $326 per tonne.
Output also rose 86.1% to 700,300 tonnes.
Strong Belarusian export volumes add supply to the global potash market, but the lower average price signals softer pricing for Belarusian product. Feed buyers should watch potash costs for crop inputs that feed through to grain and meal prices.
