Credit Suisse raised its short-term USD/ZAR target to 15.00 from 14.60, expecting the pair to range-trade as the rand's sensitivity to U.S. yields declines. The bank said a break below 14.40 or above 15.60 would require a major change in the global picture.
The forecast points to a rand that stays broadly stable around 15 per dollar, so import costs for South African feed buyers are unlikely to shift sharply in the near term.
