Ukrainian grain company Nibulon plans to ship 4.5 million tonnes of agricultural commodities by waterway in 2021. That would be up from 4.14 million tonnes in 2020, its best year on record.
The company's 2019 volume was 3.8 million tonnes.
Higher river shipping capacity on Ukraine's inland waterways adds logistics capacity for grain moving to Black Sea ports. The effect on prices is small because the plan is a company target rather than a market-wide change.
