The EIA reported the national average diesel price fell for the fourth consecutive week, to $3.124 a gallon, with a 0.5-cent decline. The price had topped $3 for seven straight weeks and was 64.4 cents higher than a year earlier, while the EIA forecast 2021 diesel at $2.88 and WTI at $57.24.
Diesel near $3 a gallon keeps trucking and feed delivery costs elevated. The EIA outlook for lower average prices in 2021 points to some relief in freight costs later in the year.
