Canada's canola crush capacity is expanding by about 41 percent over three years. Viterra, Cargill and Richardson have announced new or expanded plants in Saskatchewan adding 4.5 million tonnes to the existing 11 million tonnes, with all expected operational by 2024.
Rising crush capacity increases demand for canola seed, which supports canola prices and tightens meal supply for feed buyers over the coming years.
