The EU is considering potash in a new package of Belarus sanctions to be discussed in June, following the Ryanair incident. Potash fertilizers made up 9% of Belarus's Q1 2021 commodity exports, worth about $609 million, and Belaruskali supplies about 16% of global potash exports.
A potential EU ban on a major global potash supplier would reduce available supply and could push fertilizer prices higher.
