Sterling rose 0.4% against the dollar to $1.4184 on May 27 after BoE policymaker Gertjan Vlieghe said the first rate rise was likely well into 2022. It also hit a six-day high against the euro.
Vlieghe said he would leave the rate-setting committee in August.
Expectations of BoE tightening support sterling and change the cost of dollar-priced imports for UK buyers. The direct effect on feed prices is minimal.
