The average U.S. spot price for distillers dried grains (DDG) across 39 DTN-surveyed locations fell $14 to $218 per ton for the week ended May 27. DDG prices dropped despite a limit-up move in corn, following earlier corn weakness and lower soybean meal prices.
Buyers are still showing fairly good demand but are watching prices closely.
DDG is priced against corn and soymeal, so the drop in those markets pulled DDG lower and cut feed costs for buyers. Demand remains firm, so the softer price may be limited if corn and soymeal stabilize.
