Australia's sorghum harvest is producing strong yields, with Queensland pockets reaching around 8 t/ha after storm rain and consistent yields of 4-4.5 t/ha elsewhere. Mouse damage was an issue in parts of NSW, and prices held near $270 a tonne delivered upcountry and about $300 a tonne at port on Chinese demand.
A large domestic crop eases local supply, but firm Chinese feed and alcohol demand keeps prices high. Net price direction for export sorghum is therefore roughly neutral.
