Oklahoma State analyst Kim Anderson notes wheat is trading as a feed grain, with HRW feed value about 106% of corn. Perryton wheat was $6.49 versus $7.31 for corn, and the KC July wheat futures were $6.52 against $6.64 for December.
With wheat priced near or below corn, feed mills are substituting wheat into rations, which supports wheat demand and ties its price to corn direction.
