Ceres Global plans a C$350 million canola crushing plant near its Northgate, Saskatchewan grain terminal, with capacity to crush 1.1 million tonnes of canola a year. The plant is due to open in 2024 and will connect directly to BNSF Railway.
Added crush capacity raises domestic demand for canola seed and increases meal output, which could weigh on canola meal prices once the plant starts operating.
