USD/JPY recovered above 110.80 on Monday as US 10-year Treasury yields rebounded to about 1.55% from four-month lows near 1.36%. US consumer spending was flat in May and personal income fell, both missing expectations, which kept Fed tightening bets subdued.
Higher US yields support the dollar, which tends to pressure dollar-priced grain and oilseed values. The weak US spending data, however, reduces the chance of an early Fed hawkish turn, so the dollar's gains are limited.
After 2,356 past bullish macro events, US Dollar (Broad) moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (60% higher; middle half -0.3% to +0.7%), and +0.4% over 20.
