The USDA's May report projects Ukraine's 2021/22 sunflower harvest up 18% to about 16.7 million tonnes, with sunflower meal output rising by about 1 million tonnes to 6.71 million. World sunflower production is forecast at 54.92 million tonnes, up from 49.69 million, and world sunflower meal output at 22.56 million tonnes.
A larger world sunflower crop adds meal and oil supply for the new season, which pressures sunflower meal prices and competes with soymeal in feed markets.
