The ITC unanimously found that unfairly traded methionine from Spain and Japan injured U.S. producers, so Commerce will issue antidumping orders lasting at least five years. Cash deposits of 37.53% for Spain and 76.50% for Japan join an existing 43.82% duty on France.
Cash deposit rates this high make Japanese and Spanish methionine markedly more expensive in the US, supporting domestic methionine prices and shifting feed buyers toward other supply sources.
