S&W Seed and ADAMA announced first-year results for the Double Team sorghum cropping solution, a herbicide-tolerant system for grass weed control. The companies say it could expand U.S. sorghum acreage, which has fallen from about 10 million acres to 5-6 million.
A broader commercial rollout is planned for 2022.
Higher sorghum acreage over time would add supply, but the effect is years away and small relative to current crop size.
