Peru's Ministry of Production reported that the first north-central anchovy season ended with 2,461,568 tons landed, 98.1% of the 2.5 million ton quota. The catch is expected to yield 696,300 tons of fishmeal and generated $1,065 million in fishmeal and oil exports.
Landings were 4.1% above the first season of 2020.
A larger-than-last-year catch adds meaningful fishmeal supply to global feed markets, which is bearish for prices. Strong export revenue confirms a sizable flow of product to buyers.
