Belgium is pushing other EU member states to loosen sanctions on Belarusian potash, according to a letter seen by Bloomberg. The request would allow changes to the potassium content of fertilizer imports that companies are struggling to implement.
Easing Belarus potash restrictions would add potential supply to a very tight global potash market, which could cap the sharp price gains seen since the sanctions began.
