Chinese company China Molybdenum's Brazilian subsidiary Copebras will no longer buy phosphate rock from occupied Western Sahara, according to the company's investors. The company described the earlier shipments as a one-time incident.
Western Sahara Resource Watch had tracked trucks carrying the cargo from the port of Santos to a Cubatão industrial site.
The purchase halt is a small, company-specific change in phosphate rock sourcing with little effect on overall supply or prices.
