Kropz received a draft long-term port access agreement from Transnet to export phosphate rock through Saldanha Bay, with the contract being finalised. Exports through Cape Town would cover at most 30% of Elandsfontein's roughly one million tons a year, and only if Saldanha capacity is unavailable.
Secured port capacity lowers the risk of new South African phosphate rock supply being delayed, and it avoids higher Cape Town transport costs for most volumes.
