S&P Global reports that global biodiesel output is forecast to rise more than 15% in 2022 to roughly 53 million tonnes, about 7 million more than projected for 2021. The growth is driven by decarbonization targets and a recovery in road diesel demand after the 2020 pandemic slump.
Rising biodiesel feedstock demand will pull on virgin vegetable oils and soybean oil supplies, supporting oilseed and vegetable oil prices and tightening meal-linked crush economics for feed buyers.
