Adisseo's Nanjing plant in China reached a cumulative production of 1 million tonnes of liquid methionine (Rhodimet AT88) on December 2. Phase 2 of the plant, with 180,000 tonnes of annual capacity, is expected to start trial production at the end of 2022.
Adding 180,000t of Chinese methionine capacity in 2022 increases global supply, which could pressure methionine prices as the market loosens.
