Corteva's PhytoGen brand is releasing PHY 411 W3FE, a high-yielding upland cotton variety, for the 2022 season. The company says it outyielded other varieties in 2020 breeder trials and that PhytoGen is now the second most-planted cottonseed brand in the US.
A higher-yielding cotton variety could modestly raise future cottonseed output, but the effect on feed supply and prices is small and only a long-term factor.
