Tharaldson Ethanol plans to build a high-protein feed facility at one of the largest ethanol plants in the US. The plant will use a new process to produce a higher-protein co-product aimed at feed customers, opening new markets for ethanol co-products.
The company expects the facility to add value to its distillers grains output.
A higher-protein co-product could shift some demand away from standard DDGS toward premium feed. Its effect on overall DDGS prices will depend on how much volume reaches the market.
