The US dollar fell to its lowest level against the Vietnamese dong since April 2025, with Vietcombank lowering its rate by 1% to 25,990 VND. The dollar index was flat at 101.88 and was on track for a second straight monthly gain.
Analysts expect the dollar to strengthen further into year-end on high oil prices and Fed rate expectations, which would support dollar-denominated commodity prices while lowering import costs for dong-based buyers.
After 2,356 past bullish macro events, US Dollar (Broad) moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (60% higher; middle half -0.3% to +0.7%), and +0.4% over 20.
