Bernama reports that the ringgit is expected to trade in a 4.16 to 4.17 range next week ahead of Bank Negara Malaysia's policy meeting on January 20. The ringgit closed the week at 4.1765/1795 against the dollar, from 4.2070/2080 the previous Friday.
The outlook points to a firmer ringgit ahead of central bank guidance, which would lower ringgit-denominated palm oil and import costs, though the effect on feed markets is limited.
