A University of Saskatchewan researcher has developed a recipe for pellets made from canola meal that could be used as a biofuel for home heating. The pellets would mimic the forestry pellet sector and use leftover canola processing material.
The project is at research stage and would consume only a small share of Canadian canola meal, so it has little immediate impact on feed meal supply or prices.
