China produced 12.53 million tons of monoammonium phosphate and 13.54 million tons of diammonium phosphate in 2021, and exported about 3.79 million tons of MAP (up 49.6%) and 6.57 million tons of DAP (up 9.2%). Prices fell in Q4 2021 after export inspections and supply-stabilization policies, but remain historically high, and spring fertilizer demand is starting early.
Strong export volumes and an early restart of spring buying support phosphate prices, although Chinese policy controls on exports can limit global supply.
