ICE canola futures fell on Friday, ending a six-day winning streak, as investors sold oilseed and grain markets that had rallied the previous day on fears of supply disruption from Ukraine and Russia. Most-active May canola lost 4.8% to C$1,001.20 per tonne, hitting technical support near its 100-day moving average.
The selloff appears driven by speculative liquidation and farmer cash sales rather than a change in supply, so the broader Black Sea risk premium in canola and soy complex remains intact. Buyers should expect continued volatility in oilseed meal costs.
