Grain Millers' small grains buyer Beth Stebbins told a February 3 webinar that oats are low-input and attractive for rotations this year. She noted mid-February harvest delivery prices near $5.50 per bushel at St Ansgar, Iowa, versus about $3.50 a year earlier, and cited strong oat milk demand.
Historically high oat prices and steady milling demand support oat values, which can tighten feed oat supply and lift prices for feed buyers. Planting intentions could add supply later.
