Evonik has published the first edition of its MetAMINO ATLAS, a report of 15 performance trials on the relative nutritive value of DL-methionine versus liquid MHA-FA and MHA-Ca. The trials ran in eleven countries across broiler, layer, swine and aquaculture species.
Evonik reports that 100 units of MHA products can be replaced with 65 units of MetAMINO while keeping comparable animal performance.
The data gives feed formulators evidence for substituting methionine sources, which can affect methionine demand and relative pricing between DL-methionine and MHA products. The effect on broader feed grain or meal prices is limited.
