The Reserve Bank of India announced a $5 billion dollar-rupee sell-swap auction to drain rupee liquidity from the banking system. Analysts said the auction would be the second of its kind, following one on March 8, and would signal higher short-term interest rates.
Draining rupee liquidity supports the currency and tightens domestic credit, which can slow Indian livestock and feed demand over time but has limited direct effect on feed prices.
