MRV reports US dairy volumes are steady year on year while prices keep rising, with butter, barrel cheese and NFDM all higher week on week and dry whey slightly lower. Cheese production is up about 6.5 percent year on year while butter output lags and milk powder output fell about 7 percent.
Tight butter and powder supplies and record Class IV prices point to firm dairy markets. Declining whey prices weigh on Class III, which is a drag on milk pricing.
