ICL warned that a shortfall of about 2 million tonnes of potash is affecting supplies to Brazil, and that Belarusian product is not reaching the market. Nutrien estimates Russian output could fall by 2-6 million tonnes and Belarusian output by 6-8 million tonnes this year, and ICL said the two countries together made up about 40% of 2021 potash supply.
Combined losses from Russia and Belarus leave large import gaps, particularly in Brazil, which keeps potash prices firm and tight for farmers and fertilizer buyers.
