DAP prices in the US Corn Belt dropped by over $80 to $30-35 per tonne range as demand fell with delayed planting from chilly, damp weather. Nitrogen fertiliser prices also appear to have peaked and begun declining in international markets.
Weaker seasonal demand and buyer resistance push fertiliser costs lower, which can ease future crop input costs for corn and soybean growers. The effect on feed grain prices is indirect and depends on planting progress.
