USDA data show US cottonseed production reached 5.323 million tons in 2021, up 855,000 tons from 2020, as upland cotton output rose by over 3 million bales. Of the total, 2.521 million tons went to oil mills while 2.802 million tons went to other uses including exports and feed.
Larger cottonseed supply adds to the pool of cottonseed meal and hulls available for feed, which is mildly bearish for CSM, though the data concern a past crop year.
